Delta take part on Abu Dhabi Triathlon 2011
Once again in 2011 the world famous course will be taking in the very best of Abu Dhabi.
The Triathlon will be keeping the essence of the course the same. The swim section will take place in the stunning lagoon shadowed by the world famous 6 star Emirates Palace hotel. The bike course will weave through the unmistakable scenery of the city of Abu Dhabi, featuring tree-lined roads, landscaped parks and gardens and the sparkling waters of the Arabian Gulf, which surround the city. It will also pass via iconic landmarks such as The Emirates Palace Hotel and The Corniche all under the safety of completely closed roads.
To the east of the city the bike route passes over Saadiyat Island and on to another attraction sure to whet the appetite of the cyclist; the brand new sports and leisure island known as Yas Island. Here you will cycle round the Yas Marina Circuit which hosts the final race of the 2010 F1 season.
By the time you finish the run section of the course on the coastal boulevard to the west of the city known as the Corniche, you will have taken in many of the areas of Abu Dhabi that make the emirate one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the world.
The course is designed to ensure both professional and amateur athletes are challenged. In 2011, we are looking to set the bench mark even higher, promising an incomparable level of competitor experience and excitement.

AbdulRaheem, NBAD’s Senior General Manager and Group Chief Operating Officer. “It does not just mean that we give money to charity or recycle our newspapers; it goes far beyond that,” he added.
“A very important part of CSR and sustainability at NBAD is to look internally and see what we are doing as an employer and how we look after our employees over and above paying a salary and providing a good working environment,” he explained.
“As part of this responsibility to our people, the CSR team organised the NBAD Employee Wellness Day which took our original Health Day concept to the next level. Over 450 employees attended and enjoyed a different wellness experience, this was a significant increase over past year’s attendance” he added.
“Investment in our employees’ wellness makes absolute sense.” said Ms. Belinda Scott, NBAD’s CSR Officer.
